The Panthers got the ball to start the second half and the offense again went on a nice, methodical drive. The Panthers would run out the clock to end the half and entered the locker room up 24-7. He would split the uprights and extend the lead.Īrizona finally moved the ball a little and were able to get on the scoreboard just before the end of the half with a touchdown pass to WR JJ Nelson. They forced another punt, and Cam got the Panthers in range for K Graham Gano. The defense was the story of this game, as the top flight unit we are used to seeing in Charlotte definitely showed up with a vengeance. Stewart would plunge into the end zone again and the blowout was on. The Cardinals punted (again) and the offense (read: Jonathan Stewart) kept rolling. The Cardinals would move the ball a little to end the first quarter, but the Panther defense was just getting started. Cam led the offense down the field and the Panthers rode HB Jonathan Stewart all the way into the end zone. The Cardinals would punt on their ensuing drive (a common theme in the first half) and that is when the offense started looking good. Cam Newton and company moved the ball a little but ended up punting as well. The Panther D then forced a quick three and out and the Panther offense took over. Just like that the Panthers were off to the races in the first half. ![]() Just a few plays into the game, DT Star Lotulelei stripped QB Carson Palmer and Ol’ Reliable LB Thomas Davis scooped up the fumble and eventually scored his first career touchdown. The game could not have started off better for the Panthers’ confidence. This game, the Panthers of old showed up once again and continued where they had previously left off against the Cards. We all fondly remember the 49-15 throttling that ensued in Bank of America Stadium.
